So I will call 2020 the year of delays, the stormy year...
Clouded and blinded by pain, sickness, death, isolation, heartaches, we- collectively known as the human race- have been hit by a Category 5 hurricane.
As a result, we have been forced 'inside' for a bit, take refuge as we face rough winds. The magnitude of this fight has been unspeakeable for many, violent at its minimum. but in the midst we have dynamically reinvented ourselves, look farther, establish new horizons and boundaries, reflect on our life's purpose and ultimate vision. Being too busy was not allowing us to go through this process.
The good news? The full gamut of the sunlight will enter our lives with more passion and force than ever- once again, moving us 'out' to conquer and give. The sun will undoubtedly shine 'differently'.
What is coming our way will be exquisitely unprecedented . We have and are persevering. Each of us individually have been intrinsically built to recover, redirect, rebuild, reinvent in due time and with each other's help. Together we have always victoriously overcome. I am always amazed at God's creation in us, our healing capacity, our resistance in pushing forward! We create our future while expecting (please, allow me to magnify the positive and focus on it. NLP* teaches us to).
So I am awaiting expectantly... I am waiting for the sun to shine brighter than ever as I simultaneously create and reinvent. I can see the glimpses of a bright Fall already, not to speak of 2021. My resolution list has some hope.
How about yours? What do you see? How is your heart?
May I ask you to close your eyes and reflect maybe once again on what has transpired and what is yet to come? As you do, fill yourself with love, that substance that soothes our beings. Breath it in, stay there and as you exhale, send it back to the world. I suspect you have had some good happenings amidst the darkness.
Cherish those moments. And let your imagination go wild, think of what makes you joyful, envision new and exciting ventures and projects. Let yourself rise up, emerge. Create it in your brain, and make it happen. Make a list, write it down, share it , but persevere.
Therefore, as the Fall season arrives and we notice the changes in foliage and spot some leaves dropping from once green trees, let's continue taking steps together, in faith and trust towards healing, recovering, reaffirming, and envisioning, as we forgive, intentionally give thanks (especially those who got a gruesome portion and are still confused and weary) and give away . I am always reminded that giving a word of hope, a listening ear, a donation, a prayer. or simply our presence will manifest the biggest difference. We were born to share ourselves.
My prayer for you and your family is that as the storm starts to yield, you never forget that the sun will shine again. Remember who you/we really are. We are resilient, we are visionaries, we are strong, we are good neighbors, and we are not alone. Much peace to you.
